It's fine to not feel worried or scared over death, but it's pointless to get too curious about it. Even in a world like this that claims it isn't permanent. Who knows when that won't happen and you don't wake back up?

I think it's rather in my nature to be curious about death, however. I can't really avoid that. [Given her abilities and all. Still, she feels a bit bad she made him worry.] But I shouldn't go seeking it out either, I suppose. So you're still right.

_{[ It does take him a good 10-15 minutes, but he doesn't bother to knock on her door or anything. He just spatial jumps into her apartment, ending up right in her living room. ]}

[You know, Yuri's had spirits literally pop up out of nowhere before, but it's nothing she's ever gotten used to. Five showing off his ability like this is absolutely no exception. The good thing is that she's not holding anything valuable when he does, and also that screaming in surprise has been all but completely trained out of her.

She does fumble with the mug in her hands, though she manages to avoid shattering it on the floor, inhaling sharply before she realizes what's happened.]

_{[ oof.. he's making a beeline to that coffee in her hand, though. ]}

I'm glad despite everything your self-confidence hasn't suffered. [And by self-confidence she means arrogance, but she's more amused than actually accusing him of anything.]

I say that I'm better than most people. It's an actual fact, but I'm not better than the person I strive to be.

_{[ The answer comes easy to him. For whatever reason, he feels at ease when opening up to Yuri. Five doesn't look from the coffee he hasn't tasted yet. ]}

Someone who can protect instead of destroy.

_{[ He's done more destroying than rescuing in his life, but maybe in due time he can do something to redeem himself. ]}

I think... That's a good first step. If you're already thinking that, then you're nearly there. You'll be able to do it, since I hardly think you're one to shy away from hard work, right? [Which it just might be!]

It’s hard to re-wire yourself with what you’ve been strictly taught. I keep telling myself that I had no choice in the matter— that they made me a killer.

But when you really think about it, I did have a choice. It was my own arrogance that got me stuck in the wrong timeline and it was my decision to accept their invitation into the corrections department.

_{[ A sip of coffee. And after all of that: ]}

Hmm... Perhaps. [Well she's not going to sugarcoat that.] But if you hadn't, you never would have known about what happens to go back and try to save everyone, right?

Maybe you did make the wrong choice initially, but... You can't go back and change it. You can only keep moving forward.

[Well, he probably already knows that, but sometimes it's nice to have your own mindset validated out loud by someone else.

She looks pleased at the compliment though.] Is it? I'm glad. Aside from Hisoka-san back home, you're the first person I've made coffee for.

You're telling a time-traveler that he can't go back and fix something. There's a plausibility in that, though, since it isn't too farfetched for me to attempt something like that.

In fact, I haven't attempted to leave this place, or, spatial jump back to where I was before, though it has crossed my mind numerous times.

[Yuri pauses and makes an amused noise and gives a sheepish look] Oh, well...

[WHEN YOU PUT IT THAT WAY... Look, you know what she meant!] I'm sure even if you were to try, something would stop you. It's a different world, a different planet entirely... Would it even work that far...?

I don't think I'm even that trained with my ability to hop to an alternative universe, though..
I can't just attempt to leave my brother here without anyone else here to be with him. He also refuses to come with me.

Also, who knows where I'd end up if it didn't go according to plan.

[Yuri thinks about that all for a moment, nodding along. It's all logical and rational, even if it still sucks.]

If... [She begins, then pauses, as if startled that she'd spoken up to begin with. But it's a little too late to just pretend she didn't say anything, and she can't think of a new line of dialogue than what she was originally planning on saying, SO...]

If something ever happens... I'll look after Klaus-san. [She tilts her head and sips her coffee before continuing] I know I'm younger, so maybe it doesn't mean so much, but... I'd like to help, if I could.

Apparently he has a boyfriend or something too, so Five can understand Klaus' reason for not wanting to leave given his kind of co-dependent personality.

Well, it'd certainly be a challenge, but... [Her tone is equally sprinkled with humor and she shakes her head.] I'm sure I could manage it.

...He's a good person. Just a bit... misguided. I think maybe this place could be good for him.
